Camera measuring instrument for spring and shaped bar manufacturing

"TAB Step 2" is a latest generation optical measuring instrument designed for installation on spring and metal shaped bar coiling machines. The instrument uses one or more high-resolution digital cameras.

The main functions of TAB Step 2 include:

• Digital comparator for spring length
• Absolute measuring system for spring diameters
• Product selection via sorting devices (up to 5-way sorters)
• Product correction via motors (or CNC control lines) wether for step and for spring diameters
• Machine-stop functions in case of malfunctions
• Storage of all readings
• Output of control certificates and statistics in MS-Excel

The software is capable of measuring and correcting both spring free lenght and spring diameter, by absolute measurement coil by coil users can set tolerances for each individual coil and, if necessary, they can enable the rejection of any non-conforming piece as well as the correction of the following work pieces. There are several systems of length and diametrer correction, from simple algorithm to proportional at mathematical integration functions more advanced so as to consider the historic of the production
